Lockheed P-80 Ejection Seat
These photos of a Lockheed P-80 seat come from my personal collection. They are unmarked as to the
date and type of seat. After studying them, we have identified them as a Lockheed P-80 seat due
to the similarity to the T-33 seat. There are a few differences that are of note. Click on these photos for larger scans.
- The firing handles/armrests are an early style.
- There is no canopy breaker fitted (the T-33 used a curved plate type)
- The headrest is a stamped metal version with no padding on it
The seat beam assembly is covered with the aircraft rails in these photos, which is unusual. One side, the right, does not appear to have an operating handle.
If anyone can help me idenfify the seat more, please
email me.
