The Ejection Site

F-16 Maintainance Training Simulator

Egress technicians are required to train on how to safely remove and install all portions of a particular aircrafts egress system. This includes not only the seat, but also the canopy jettison system. To prevent damage to an expensive aircraft, as well as the need to 'down' the aircraft while training, the Egress troops are provided with a simulator of their own. This sim is complete with ejection seat and canopy and accurately represents the cockpit of the particular aircraft. The ejection seat itself is essentially a complete seat, but the charges and rockets are inert training versions.
